James' Photgraphy

Hey Everybody,
Hope you have all had a fantastic week.
Sorry I haven't posted in a while... A lot has been going on lately!

Id like to introduce you all to one of my very good friends- James Mackinnon.
James and I have been friends since we started high school together, although he has now moved to Perth. James is a really talented photographer and I have asked him if I could show some of his work on my blog. Please comment bellow and tell him how much you love his work... Then hopefully he will let me steal some more of his work for the blog.

Mud Crabs

Hey everyone,
Today we went Mud Crabbing, with Morty!
The ocean was nice and calm on the way out... but the way in was horrible. Both Morton and I got sea-sick :( The worst bit was the fact that after all the hard work, we only caught 1 mud crab and 1 blue swimmer crab. A very disappointing day, but at least we weren't stuck inside BORED all day! The only photos I took were of them in the sink, sorry they're not very good...

Art...

I thought that this week, I would show you some of the art I have previously worked on... So maybe if you have some advice or tips I can use you can tell me! Enjoy, and as always... tell me what you think!

This is my art wall next to my bed, Its a work in progress and is ever evolving.

Some of the wall close up...

The wall in its entirety. You can also see my Africa photos pinup board above.

I was experimenting with colours and gloss :) This is one of my favorites

My Aunty Pam helped me create this one. She is an amazing artist. The base of the painting is No-Gaps (a wall filler)
Little fishies. This is a mini canvas, only about 7cm in length

More little fishies! The bubbles took me ages to make them look even remotely 3D

My Lino Print that I did in art at school. Mum liked it so much she got it framed!

The front page of my arty scrapbook. Its a collection of lots of little patterns I have done

This piece was made with a star shaped stencil. I like this one a lot and I think I might do it big on a canvas one day....

My ying and yang painting, done with inks. I really love this one

My winged creature... This was the original sketch for the lino print seen above.

Camo print. This took me forever... and doesn't look as good as I had hoped.

My midnight landscape. This was another school piece. The trees are 3D, and the picture itself looks so much better in person.

Pam also helped me with this one. Its made with inks!

My little fishy! I have to admit I was looking at a picture on the computer when I did this one
I was experimenting with realism. The eye itself was a pencil sketch, the background its on is acrylic paints

Another "looking at the computer" one... This one took forever ! I cant even remember what the writing says, but its in Japanese!

Hope you enjoyed!

Trip to the Beach

We took Morty to the beach on the weekend, and I have only just got around to posting these because our wifi died! So here they are.
I found a starfish! Yes... an actual starfish, and it moved!

My little baby Morty, with his brand new Frisbee that Ben brought home from school
A Sturt Desert Pea, a flower that's native in the Pilbara and is absolutely beautiful.
Dad throwing the Frisbee to Morty, who chased it up and down the beach for ages!
